Ava Glover
Ava is a program specialist in the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center’s housing practice. In this position, she conducts intake and connects people with housing concerns to attorneys.
Ava is a graduate of Roanoke College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice with minors in Spanish and psychology, as well as a concentration in crime, deviancy, and social control.
While at Roanoke, Ava led a research project titled “Missing White Woman Syndrome: How True Crime Podcasts Decide the Fate of Missing People in the United States.” The research focuses on the ethical implications of deriving entertainment from stories about murder and how racial relations in America have led to massive disparities in news coverage.
During her free time at Roanoke College, Ava was involved with Alpha Phi Omega, a co-ed service fraternity on campus. During her service with the organization, she served as the diversity, equity, and inclusion chair, bridging the gap between students and the Roanoke community to improve mutual understanding.
Prior to joining the Pro Bono Center, Ava interned with the District of Columbia Criminal Justice Coordinating Council and Kate’s Place, a daytime care facility for disabled adults in Roanoke.
